Boys’ and girls’ basketball teams defeat Urbandale Jayhawks

The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams traveled to Urbandale for a showdown with the rival Jayhawks Jan. 29. The girls came out strong and put high pressure on the Jayhawks early, causing them to turnover the ball frequently. Sophomore Jennah Johnson started for the girls’ varsity team, and played a large roll in creating turnovers. “We forced them into over 20 turnovers, and off of those turnovers we converted and scored from many of them,” Johnson said. The boys’ team was also able to pick up a win against the Jayhawks, shooting the ball well, and focusing on getting stops on the defensive end. The boys’ and girls’ travel to Fort Dodge Feb. 2 to take on the Dodgers.
