The high school is not the only building in the district to be putting new security measures in place.
Horizon Elementary now has a different procedure for visitors.
“The doors are open from 8:35 to 8:50, and then other than that they are locked,” Horizon secratary Tammy Joslin said.”Visitors have to buzz to get in.”
By becoming stricter on who is allowed to visit, this will help to protect the students as well as the staff.
“We have little cameras on our desks so we can see,” Joslin said. “They still have to come in through the office and sign in. We have to determine whether we are going to let them in or not.”
