Volleyball end their season as State qualifiers

The girls’ volleyball team left the U.S. Cellular arena in Cedar Rapids as state qualifiers after going up against the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars in the first round of the state semi-finals. The two teams were close all rounds and only being one point away during the majority of the last set. The Jaguars and Dragons had tied up 2-2, but the Ankeny Centennial girls took down Johnston on the fifth set, allowing them to move forward in the tournament.

Counselor Sue Baker was congratulated at the start of the game with the Sportsmanship award, an award given to one nominated person from each school to recognize their sportsmanship and leadership shown from the season. The girls’ varsity volleyball team ended their season on Nov. 10.
