4th Place Finishes for XC

Boys and Girls XC both took 4th place at the 2021 State Cross Country Meet on Friday, October 29th.

Olivia Verde ‘24, who currently holds the course record for our home XC track with a time of 18:27, finished in 4th place for Class 4A Girls. District Champion Jaxson Plumb ‘23 finished in 6th place overall for Class 4A Boys.

Both teams qualified to compete at the meet in Fort Dodge, which makes 2021 the 10th year straight that the Boys XC team has qualified for state. Both the Boys and Girls XC teams were named the 2021 4A District Champs.

Overall, both teams performed and scored well. “I felt proud of myself, but it was really hard conditions so it was kinda disappointing that our team didn’t do as good as we could’ve… we all gave it what we had,” said Verde.
