Baseball splits with Dallas Center-Grimes

Varsity and JV took a win and a loss against Dallas Center-Grimes at home Wednesday, May 28. JV played the first game, and varsity followed them at 7 p.m. for the second match-up of the season.
Juniors Jacob Jansen and Andrew Heuss pitched for JV, but did not attain a win. The DCG Mustangs scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull away. The final score of the game was 3-7.
Senior Nick Stitzell started pitching for varsity, then was relieved by senior Tyler Steuber in the seventh inning. The Dragons pulled away in the bottom of the fifth inning with six runs, only letting the Mustangs score one run in the game. The final score was 6-1.
Varsity will play next Saturday, March 31 at home against Lewis Central and Boone at 10:00 a.m.
