The Dragons played in the first round of the playoffs against the Dowling Catholic Maroons at Williams Stadium in Des Moines. By half-time the Dragons were down 21-6. Despite their effort the Dragons were still down 34-6 with six minutes left in the third quarter.

As the Maroons continued to score, emotions ran high for the Dragons and their fans. The Dragons ended their season with a loss against the Dowling Catholic Maroons 41-6.
