On Monday of January 17, 2022 one of the Johnson Community School District (JCSD) staff members suddenly passed away at the age of 33 in their home due to a cardiac arrest. Robert Munson Benesh was an English as a secondary language teacher and building equity advocate at Lawson and Wallace elementary schools. Benesh was loved by the JCSD, his family, and his friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 24 and there will be a memorial service on Tuesday, January 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The JCSD sends their condolences to the family, friends, and students that were affected. Assistance Programs will be available to support our students and staff in coping with this loss at JCSD. Both his visitation and memorial will be live streamed.
