Johnston Girls Comeback to Win It Against Southeast Polk, Move On to Face Iowa City High Thursday

The girls basketball team faced off with Southeast Polk on Monday, Mar. 2 at Wells Fargo Arena. The girls came into the quarterfinals as the three seed facing the sixth seeded Southeast Polk. The Dragons went ahead in the first quarter with a 23-17 score. But when the second and third quarters came around, Southeast Polk started to gain traction. They outscored Johnston by a combined total of 10 points in the second and third quarter. Coming into the fourth quarter the girls was down 4 to Southeast Polk. After sweating it out for a bit, Johnston went went on a run and won 75-71.

Johnston’s next girls game is against Iowa City High at 10:00 AM on Thursday.
