“I am a certified master gardener. It’s a class that you take through the Iowa State extension. I certified in 2005 and for the most part what it means is I like to dig in the dirt. The extension philosophy is that you share the information that you know so we can’t be paid for the information that we know. I have always loved to dig in the dirt and my sister and two good friends of mine did it together. It’s a full semester of classes and you have to volunteer 40 hours to get your certification.”
