The girls varsity soccer team excelled in one game on Friday April 18 and two games Saturday April 19. On Friday, they defeated Des Moines North 14-0 at home. The team also shut out both Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Ankeny 3-0.

The first game, against Cedar Rapids Jefferson, scorers included freshman Kaitlin Schultz, senior Rachel Wanninger and freshman Kristin Hart. During game two, sophomore Rachel Roshek took the lead in scoring with two goals with Wanninger following behind with one.

“(Our) team has pulled together both offensively and defensively,” Roshek said. “I think we are poised to make a very good run this year.”
