Special Education Classes Beautify the School

The colorful rocks in the courtyard and the gratitude tree in the front are from special education teacher Alissa Underfer’s classes. After watching a news clip of a woman who turned a tornado damaged tree into a gratitude tree, students brought the idea to principal Ryan Woods. After approval they made tags and painted the tree in hopes people can find the good in things and be thankful. After finding robins’ nests in the courtyards, Underfer’s classes also wanted to decorate the areas surrounding the nests with colorful rocks and added bird feeders.
