Strawberry Smoothie

Twin Peaks Music
American rock band Twin Peaks’ “Strawberry Smoothie” immediately took me back to the first time I had watched “The Runaways” a biographical film about the 1970s teenage all-girl rock band, The Runaways. “Strawberry Smoothie” is the contemporary male version of “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways, lots of rock instrumental with little vocals. It’s one of those songs where you can head bang to on a long summer afternoon car ride. Not sure if this type of music would be a hit in today’s society, but if placed in the 1970s setting it would for sure be a featured radio station song. I’m more of the indie rock type of person, but I have a soft spot for old time rock music, so this giving off an old 70s/ 80s vibe is a point in my book. The rest of their Wild Onion album gives off a feel good experience, with upbeat instrumental that includes lots of drums and guitar. So this song is highly recommended for those who really appreciate older music, and want to get their inner hippie on. Overall I would give this a 4 out of 5, it takes me back to my Beatles phase, and the creative song title was a selling point for me. Unfortunately it did make me crave an actual strawberry smoothie by the end of the song.
