Take me to the earth
to reimburse all hurt;
flowers, ferns lurk and flirt
with the hem of my pants;
oh, let me be a plant
or one with clans of ants
and join in the ever-entranced dance
of pointless things that breathe,
and I’ll sway with the trees;
green leaves hush the breeze;
sun beams fracture beneath my feet
until imminent night,
then I’ll join the sky;
blazing, bold star, my
bright light flies high nigh,
and plummeting, I return.
Take me to the earth.
