Turn down for dressing up

Walking through the halls this week, one might see Ghandi, three Joni Ernst look-alikes and an udderless cow. Why? Because it’s Spring Fling week, so get excited.
Even if you’re not going to prom, like me, you should still dress up. When else can you have an excuse to wear a cat onsie to school? Answer: homecoming week. But that’s not the point. The point is that if you aren’t dressed up, you aren’t enjoying looking ridiculous in a building full of all your peers.
So far this week we’ve had Character Day and Iowan/Farmer Day. For Character Day, some notable costumes were the Friends cast, Ghandi, Kakashi from Naruto, the Parks and Recreation cast and David Bowie. For Iowan/Farmer Day, I’ve seen a lot of plaid and flannel shirts, cowboy hats and baseball caps. I was original and wore Joni Ernst™ Bread Bags on my feet.
For the rest of the week we have Animal Day (no udders!), Beach Day and Future Day. Future Day does not mean spacesuits and hoverboards, it means what college or wherever you’re going next year for seniors and Johnston apparel for sophomores and juniors.
So be cool, dress up, and laugh at other people’s outfits. That’s the Johnston way.
