The Autism Society of Iowa is hosting its Annual Statewide Autism Essay Contest and they are now accepting submissions. The contest is open for K-12 students, with two separate categories for students kindergarten through fifth grade and then for students from sixth grade through 12.

All essay topics are focused around autism, but range from the personal experience of having autism to how other students and people with autism impact your life. Students can choose which essay prompt they want to answer and then submit an essay to be reviewed by a panel.

First through third place winners will receive a prize amount. Additionally, first place winners will be invited to attend a Conference Award Ceremony and Lunch at the Autism Society of Iowa Annual Conference on Friday, November 1, 2019, to be recognized.

The deadline to enter the contest is October 1, 2019. If you or someone you know would like to enter to the contest, more information about the contest itself and the guidelines to enter can be found by clicking here.
