The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams blew out cross town rival Urbandale in a home showdown on Friday, Dec. 18. The boys’ team put up an impressive defensive effort, and held Urbandale to under 50 points in a 71-47 win. The girls’ team also scored 71 points, however won by a much larger margin: 71-38.
Both teams had a strong student showing, as the rivalry has recently grown from student section chants, to student-lead Twitter fights. A Christmas theme was apparent in each of the crowds through several Christmas sweaters and one full Santa costume.
