Boys Basketball Loses A Heartbreaker Versus Ankeny

Boys Basketball lost a heartbreaking game against Ankeny 74-80 on January 16, 2020. The offense was on fire early in the game but then cooled off in the second half. Their defense also worsened as the game went which led to it being a tight game in the fourth quarter. In the last few minutes of the game Johnston’s offense completely fell apart. They were down one possession and committed a quick two turnovers to make it a six point game. Steven Kramer ’22 lead the team in points (18) and defensive rebound (4). Max Rouquet ’21 lead the team with six total rebounds and added 11 points to the effort. Brees Proctor ’20 scored the most points of the bench (9) and had a huge three in the second half that gave the Dragons a big shift in momentum. The Boys play Dowling Catholic on Friday January 24, 2020. They will seek to avenge themselves from the 16 point loss the last time they played them.
