Girls’ varsity basketball team loses to Southeast Polk

The girls’ basketball team lost against the Southeast Polk Rams by the score of 58-59 on Jan. 23 bringing their season to 13-3. The Rams started out strong but the Dragons kept up and eventually overtook them during the third quarter. The fourth quarter ended 49-49 sending the game into overtime where the Rams eventually won. Maya McDermott ’20 led the scoring for the girls with 22 points. Maddie Mock ’20 led the team in rebounds and assists with seven each. Jenna Johnson ’18 scored 11 points and had three assists. Their next game is Fri. Jan. 26 at Johnston High School.
