Johnston pins the competition at state wrestling

The varsity wrestling team went to the State competition at the Wells Fargo Arena from Feb. 17 to Feb. 20 to compete in class 3A. “We do a lot of focused and high tempo drilling with very little live wrestling to keep their bodies well rested and fresh,” said coach Steve Price. The team placed third , and senior Ethan Ksiazek made it to the quarterfinals and placed fourth in the 132 pound weight class. “I tried to bring in a positive energy to each practice and I feel that my teammates fed off of it,” said Ksiazek. Junior Zach Price also finished fourth in the 120 pound weight class, and finally freshman Nick Graham placed sixth in the 138 pound weight class. Congratulations to the state wrestling team.
