Purple or gold at the game

The homecoming game will be a purple and gold out.

“The gold part of it is the child cancer awareness, and the purple would be the spirit.” Athletic Director Gary Ross said.

This month is child cancer awareness month. “With the game here there was interest in having that recognition for the football team with the gold,” Ross said.” Also recognizing with purple t-shirts that it would be a purple night.”

It was a cheer coach that set the gold part of the game up.”One of our cheer coaches had initially contacted to see if there’d be any way they could do a few things regarding the gold (child cancer) awareness” Ross said.”There was a personal part of it there, and (they) asked if we could do that part of it.” For instance the football players will be wearing gold wristbands at the game.

“Its a yellow out in the sense of child cancer awareness,” Ross said.” But we had purple t-shirts, and our colors are purple and gold. so (wear) purple or gold.”
