Students stuff eggs for District Egg Hunt

Several teachers from the 8/9  building and Summit volunteered their students to stuff Easter eggs for the District Egg Hunt held on March 24 at 3 p.m. at the Johnston High School football stadium. The classrooms stuffed the eggs the week before spring break.

Jon Gibbs is one of the Community Education staff setting up the event. Candy and different prizes were purchased  from Costco and Nobbies for the egg stuffing.

Hy-Vee helps sponsor and publicize the egg hunt. Volunteers working on Silver Cord hours help set up the day of the event.

“There are over 4,000 eggs,” Gibbs said. “The Silver Cord volunteers help clean up after the event as well.”

Children the age eight and under will be able to participate in the egg hunt.

“We do it just as an event that the community can take part in,” Gibbs said.
