Boys and Girls varsity track athletes competed at the Drake Relays on April 23, 2021.

The girls’ team started off the meet in the sprint medley. Alyssa Miner ’22 and Karli Wagner ’24 ran the first two legs of the medley. Addi Kamienski ’21 ran the third leg and Jayce Blanchard ’23 anchored the race. They placed 13 with a time of 1:52.12.

Aleah Tenpas ’22 and Olivia Verde ’24 ran the 3000 meter run. Verde placed 13 with a time of 10:25.33. Tenpas placed ninth with a time of 10:17.14.

The girls’ 4×100 meter relay placed 33 with a time of 51.89. Miner lead off the relay and handed the baton off to Wagner, who handed it off to Ciara Wheeler ’21, who gave it to Mae Glass for the last leg.

The girls 4×800 meter relay placed second with a time of 9:27.5. Tenpas lead off the race. Bella Heikes ’21 ran the second leg and was followed Krissy Spear ’24. Sam Strauss ’21 ran the anchor leg and secured their second place finish.

In the 1500 meter run Faith Nead placed 21 with a time of 5:15.24. Verde placed 11 with a time of 4:54.33. Tenpas placed tenth and was the top on the team with a time of 4:53.23.

To finish the meet for the girls team the 4×400 placed 12. Kamienski lead off for the girls and was followed by Tenpas. Strauss ran the third leg and Blanchard  secured the 12 place finish.

 

The boys opened their meet in the 3200 meter run. Yohana Yual ’21 placed 20 with a time of 9:40.37.

The boys 4×100 meter relay placed 26. Tatum Fox ’23 lead off the relay and was followed by Mengesha Hennes ’23. Mason Corwell ’22 ran the third leg and handed the baton off to Nick Nyren ’21 who finished the relay.

The 4×800 meter relay placed 15 with a time of 8:19.49. Carter Eckhoff ’22 lead off and was followed by Yual. Alex Wear ’23 ran the third leg and handed it to anchor Carson Stanley ’21.
