Varsity volleyball qualifies for state

Taking on the SE Polk Rams the varsity volleyball team experienced one of their closest games of the season. The two teams were neck and neck during all four sets that were played. The Dragons won the first set 25-20, but the Rams managed to win the second set 25-21. That could not stop the Dragons as the took them down the last two sets, ending the night with qualifying for state 3-1.

Sophomore Alisha Rusch was named Player of the Match, finishing with 20 digs and a strong performance during the third and fourth quarter that drove the Dragons to their victory.

The girls’ varsity volleyball team played against the SE Polk Rams at home on Nov. 3 for regional finals. They will now be moving onto State which is held at Cedar Rapids Tuesday Nov. 10. The Dragons will be going against Ankeny Centennial for their first round in the state competition.
