Winter Warmth Drive by the numbers

The Winter Warmth Drive is a challenge across the metro area to collect winter clothing. The drive had 28 schools participate this year and raised approximately 10,200 items. Despite the large number of donations, the drive did not reach their goal of 12,000 items this year. A total of 50,000 people qualified this year to receive donations in the metro area alone.
“I think it’s really cool that we give back to our community,” senior Sara Goodman said. This year our school collected 47 coats, 19 snow pants, 11 snow boots, 18 sweaters, 56 sweatshirts, 61 hats, 66 gloves and 36 scarves.
