Junior Ethan Ksiasek (113) and senior Henry Pohlmeyer (132) both lost their quarterfinal matches today during the state wrestling tournament in Wells Fargo Arena.

Ksiasek lost to Waverly Shell-Rock’s Austin Yant by decision 9-2. He will wrestle Trenton Wennermark from Cedar Rapids Prairie in consolation.

#5 Spencer Nevills from Pleasant Valley upset #1 Pohlmeyer by decision 3-0. Pohlmeyer will wrestle Cayd Lara from Fort Dodge in consolation. Both Ksiasek and Pohlmeyer are now in contention for third place.

Consolation rounds begin right after the 2A quarterfinals. Freshman Zach Price (106), junior Alec Ksiasek (120) and senior Shane Vaughn (138) are also in the consolation rounds.
