Potential abduction false alarm
The alleged abduction was reported to be in a small neighborhood behind Greendale Road. The report was found to be false.

The Johnston Police Department held a live press conference on the news around 10:50 to inform the community that the alleged abduction was a misunderstanding.
According to KCCI, the police department released a statement saying, “The Johnston Police Department has been able to identify the persons involved in the perceived abduction and confirmed that no actual abduction occurred and all individuals are safe and unharmed.”
The possible abduction attempt was reported Friday at 7:15 a.m. in a neighborhood just west of Merle Hay Road on Greendale Road. An email was sent out to parents later in the morning to inform them of the possibility that the abduction occurred. Shortly after, the student came forward and told police and administrators that it was a misunderstanding.
