As the show choir groups Innovation and Synergy prepare for their upcoming competition on Saturday, Jan. 16, their various members are preparing in their own ways. “I try and work hard and give one hundred percent at every practice,” senior and Innovation member Emma Vontalge said.
At the competition, the choirs will be judged on the quality of their dancing and their singing. “You have time slots where you perform throughout the day and judges watch you,” Vontalge said. “They tell you what was good, bad, and what you need to improve on.”
In rehearsals, the mood is serious in order to keep the focus on what is to come. Hannah Ryan, the director of the choirs, makes sure everyone is doing what they’re supposed to do. “If you’re slacking, she’ll let you know,” Vontalge said.
