Students React: rerouting Dakota Access Pipeline

“I actually think the pipeline is good, considering it eliminates CO2 emissions. There’s also less of a chance for accidents. I think people are overreacting because they are not educated. They don’t realize that 99.99 percent of pipelines really have no issues. We create precautions and tests to make sure it doesn’t pollute the river,” Matt Jackson ’18 said.

Over the past weekend, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers made the decision to prohibit the Dakota Access Pipeline from crossing Lake Oahe, the hotspot of massive protests. The construction of the pipeline has been delayed until the it can be rerouted.  Here is what students had to say about it.
