“Seussical” takes the stage
55 students acted in three productions of “Seussiccal.” 25 cast members portrayed characters from many Dr. Suess stories, 17 students played in the orchestra, and 13 students participated in the crew, moving objects on and off stage as well as playing extra characters such as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
“Seussical” performances were April 21, 22 and 23. “I thought all three performances had a lot of energy and you could tell the students were having fun the whole time,” director Jeremy Fitzpatrick said. “I thought the students did an outstanding job of staying in and drawing the audience into the world of the show.”
“Seussical” is a musical based off of many Dr. Seuss stories, mainly “Horton Hears a Who,” “Horton Hatches the Egg” and “Miss Gertrude McFuzz.”
Around 700 people went to the performances and the drama department made around $6,900 from ticket sales. “The best part for me is seeing the students enjoy the results of their hard work and everybody congratulating them on a job well done.”
