The varsity show choir, Innovation, placed fifth overall in the Linn Mar Supernova competition Saturday Jan. 12.

Innovation’s performance received feedback on Twitter for the first time, from Joey Contreras, composer of Innovation’s first song, “Ready.”

“Joey Contreras was raving about Innovation’s show,” Eric Shepard, the head vocal music teacher said.

Contreras tweeted on Jan. 17, “@JoeyPatrick: Hey @JHSInnovation students! Thanks again for bringing such passion, talent and energy to “READY.” You all rock!”

Synergy, the JV choir, performed in the day show and placed second. Innovation placed fourth in the day show, which led them to the finals where they received their overall placement of fifth. There are no finals for the JV division.
