Cookie balls
Ingredients:
8 ounces of cream cheese
1 package of regular Oreos or 2 packages of Keebler’s grasshopper cookies
4-6 blocks of white almond bark
Food coloring (optional)
With this recipe you can either make Oreo balls or grasshopper balls (I’m not talking about the insect but if you were looking for that here’s a link that’s all about grasshoppers).
First smash the cookies till there’s is mostly crumbs and a couple small little bits left. Put that into a bowl and mix with softened cream cheese. Once it is all evenly mixed roll your preferred size balls and place on a cookie sheet. Then refrigerate for about an hour.
While they refrigerate (go follow me on twitter @Eileen_L9) but actually get your almond bark and and use about 4-6 blocks and melt them down in a double boiler or the microwave. (Refer back to my puppy chow recipe for my opinion on double boiler vs. microwave, I know you want to because my opinion is all that matters).
If you wanted to add food coloring now is the time. Add about 2-4 drops depending on how light or dark you want it.
Once your balls are firm remove them from the refrigerator and coat them in the almond bark. Please use a fork or spoon to do this preferably not your hands (I know you laughed at the word balls already so you could at least try to act like an adult). Place them back on the cookie sheet and refrigerate for one more hour.
Then enjoy!
